Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
Yes, to claim a Medicare rebate you need a current referral. A GP referral is usually valid for 12 months and a specialist's referral for 3 months, unless the referring doctor states otherwise. Please talk to your GP first.
How do I book?
Your GP emails the referral to admin@entsurgeons-sydney.com.au and our rooms contact you to arrange a time, usually within 1–2 weeks. You can also call (02) 8883 5368 (Bella Vista) or (02) 8608 2262 (Parramatta). Existing patients can use the Book Online page for follow-up appointments.
What does a consultation cost? Do you bulk bill?
Private fees apply. A Medicare rebate is available with a valid referral, and bulk billing may be offered in some circumstances. Our rooms will tell you the fee when you book.
What should I bring?
Your referral, Medicare card, private health fund details (if any), a list of your medicines, and any recent scans, hearing tests or results.
Do you see children?
Yes, our team sees children as well as adults. A parent or guardian should attend with children under 18.
Where do you consult?
Bella Vista: Suite A11, Level 1, 24–32 Lexington Drive, Bella Vista NSW 2153. Parramatta: Agios Health, 3/23 Hassall Street, Parramatta NSW 2150. Both rooms: by appointment, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
Is there parking?
At Bella Vista, yes: parking is available and the rooms have disabled access. The rooms are less than 500 m from Bella Vista Metro station.
Which hospitals do you operate at?
Dr Diaa Samuel operates at Norwest Private Hospital and private hospitals on the Central Coast.
Will I need surgery?
Not necessarily. Many ear, nose and throat problems are managed without surgery. If an operation is suggested, the surgeon will explain the options, the risks, the expected recovery and the costs, so you can make an informed decision. You can take time to decide and seek a second opinion.
Is my information kept private?
Yes. We handle health information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Please do not send medical details through the website contact form; your GP's referral is the right way to share them.
What if it is urgent?
For emergencies, such as heavy bleeding after tonsil surgery, difficulty breathing or sudden swelling, call 000 or go to the nearest emergency department.
